Korean Studies
The Asian Studies Program offers occasional courses on Korea—from literature and visual culture to government and legal studies.
In Spring 2018, Distinguished Lecturer in Government Bradley Babson, a former World Bank economist with extensive experience in Korean affairs, taught a course entitled 'The Two Koreas and Geopolitics of Northeast Asia.' In Fall 2018, John Kim's "Madness in Korean Literature and Film” provided a thematic introduction to Korea’s literary and cultural history. In Fall 2019, his "Korea Beyond Borders" course explored how contemporary Korean fiction writers and filmmakers reimagined the boundaries of Korea's cultural imagination on a global scale.
